Sockapalooza, Lucky Me!

There was a package on the porch today. Could it be? It is, my Sockapalooza socks, from Jennie of BegKnitter's Knotty Mess, all the way from Staffordshire, England!

Aren't they lovely? (I wish I had a better shot, and see the little toes that really wanted to be in the picture?) The color is a pretty pink-red, like cochineal dye, my favorite yarn color, and the fit is perfect! I am guessing that the pattern is Waving Lace, which was on my to-do list, how did she pick something so perfect for me? And talk about a great stretchy cuff and really beautiful knitting.

These are my first ever pair of handknit socks, what a treat. Regardless of the 80 degree weather I am keeping them on today and enjoying the soft luxurious comfort of a perfectly fitting pair of socks. Plus tasty apple candies and a book about Staffordshire, what a great sock pal, thanks so much!

Yay!!
The socks I got this year were Waving Lace too. Must be something in the air across the pond.

Oh good, they came, they came! Oddly enough, I got an email from my pal right after we talked about it a few days ago, and now you have actual socks!
