I haven't tried to sew anything since an incident a couple of weeks back that destroyed a bias cut linen skirt. I can't say more, it's just too painful, but let's just say my confidence is SHOT, shattered I tell you! I know, I know, get back on the horse, right? Well no, I'm practicing avoidance a bit longer. There is something about sewing for myself that is so much harder than making kid's clothes. Is it the scale? Less leeway on the fit? I am considering a wrap around skirt though, so you never know...
In the meantime, I can always knit something, so I am working on a pair of Embossed Leaves Socks (from Interweave Knits Winter 2005) in this pinkish-red color. Obviously I love leaf lace patterned knits, can't get enough of them. I'm about to start the heel and have also cast on for the second sock. (It's easier for me to keep track of any modifications that way) Not bad for two days of progress.
Backgound fabric is from Superbuzzy of course!

Sorry about the bias skirt sadness. I have the lining of a doomed dress wadded up in a drawer of my sewing desk for when I'm ready to 'finish'. I don't know who I'm kidding! I hope you take a stab at the wrap around. It could be cathartic...
Oh no, what a bummer!
I love the sock though, what a great cheerful color.
That's a lovely sock. Why have I not knitted this pattern yet? Must add it to the list...
