Wooly Leaf Garland

In the continuing leaf theme, I saw lovely fabric leaves on Wise Craft, which were in turn inspired by Pink Trees, and I had to give them a try.

The orangey brown and cream wool was a $2 thrifted ratty wool blanket (I love the pattern!) that I felted, and the red was wool felt that I had around the house. What compelled me to purchase a faux rick rack ribbon when I am bursting at the seams with vintage rick rack? And not even the color I had in mind. This one is for my mother for a Thanksgiving decoration. I have nowhere to hang a garland, but I may scrape together some more colors and make my own just the same.

Sasha, it looks gorgeous! I love the patterning of the wool blanket, it really makes you want to look closer. Nice nice work.

I've really been enjoying your crafts lately - so simple and wonderful.

I plan on getting started on a few Christmas hair clips for the little girls in my family - felt holly/ivy and maybe some poisiettas tucked in a cute felt pouch ... can't wait!
