I went digging in the stash yesterday with every intention of sorting and organizing. Actually I stopped at the first leftover half-ball of yarn, Rowan Ribbon Twist in Rhumba. I wanted the satisfaction of a quick knit, so after a glance through the Stitchionary, it was a mesh hat in the time it takes a toddler to nap. No pattern, just some rudimentary swatching and estimating size.
That's a YO, K2tog row alternated with a knit row. When I bound off the top I had ONE INCH of yarn to spare. My idea of a thrill, stash-busting and no leftovers. The shape isn't right for me, but the toddler liked it, and it reminds me a bit of crochet, which I like in a cloche.
