I flirted with making some socks for my mom and starting a tradition after last year's socks. But ultimately, I wasn't really feeling the color. It was Pond Blue Lorna's Laces, and if you picture Cookie Monster, well, that's about it. Lovely and vivid, but the further along I knit, the more that little voice in my head kept saying it wasn't really her color.
Ditching the socks I improvised a totebag. Fully lined and an inside pocket with a button closure and shoulder straps. I made this up as I went along, which goes a long way toward explaining why I ripped and re-sewed about 1/3 of it. It's not perfect but I think it's pretty cute. Add a book and I think it makes a pretty good present. I really wanted to keep this one, so there may be some more of these in the future. Maybe next time I'll get some better pictures (in real life it doesn't have crookedy lines nor is it and blurry), arrgh!
